This is a nationally recognized certificate program endorsed by banks and universities. 12 sessions beginning March 2008 - Informational/Demo meetings to be announced last week of February.
You will be able to participate in this series from your computer and phone with access to broadband Internet. There will be a combination of real time sessions (lunch time), and asynchronous (at your convenience) participation using a private online discussion area, as well as downloadable audio and video. We will also have optional face-to-face networking gatherings usually at lunch, or breakfast.
$499 for series—Qualifies for a 100% scholarship from OHA for Native Hawaiians.

The Power of Relationships: Using Opt-In Mail Lists to develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, customers, and colleagues.
Eric Groves, from the online service Constant Contact, will present a 1.5-hour workshop on how to use free and/or low cost e-mail list tools. This will be at the Pono Incubator Building next to the Iao Theater on N. Market St. on Thursday, February 7th from 3:00 p.m. until 4:30 p.m.
Opt-in mail lists require the advance permission of the recipient and with services such as Constant Contact are much less likely to be screened out by Spam filters. They also provide valuable information on whether the message is opened and allow the owner of the list many options for organizing and communicating. $15
Starting a Venture in Hawaii
Gain an overview of the issues involved in starting a business in Hawaii. Learn about the resources available on Maui and the key to marketing, finance, and operations issues you may face. Have your questions answered in the session with a video, lecture, and Q&A format. Handouts include a sample business plan--$23.

This workshop will provide a basic model for business feasibility analysis with emphasis on market research and economic analysis data, which is necessary in making a business’ case to investors and other stakeholders. (This is a companion class to “Starting a Venture in Hawai’i”).
Classes are from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Maui County Business Resource Center (MCBRC). Please call the MCBRC at 873-8247 for future class dates and to register.
